External Technology Engineer
Join Leidos’ Office of Technology (OOT) as an External Technology Engineer on the Technology Integration – External Technology team. This high-impact role is for a technically strong, execution-oriented engineer ready to dive hands-on into emerging external technologies at the intersection of commercial innovation and Leidos' internal capabilities.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on evaluations of partner software and AI solutions.
- Build prototypes and proof-of-concepts to test feasibility, performance, and fit.
- Partner with external engineers to design integrated solutions with Leidos platforms.
- Deliver clear technical assessments covering strengths, limitations, risks, and integration paths.
- Collaborate with Leidos sector teams to drive technology adoption.
- Develop architectures, designs, and documentation for scalable implementations.
- Monitor industry trends in commercial tech.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related with 2+ years experience; or Master’s with 0-2 years.
- Proven software coding and maintenance skills.
- Experience with modern software platforms.
- Strong analytical abilities for quick tech learning.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Self-motivated and results-driven.
- U.S. Citizenship.
Preferred Qualifications
- AI/ML framework experience.
- System integration, APIs, cloud architectures.
- Third-party tech evaluation/integration.
- DevOps, CI/CD, containers.
- High-achiever with technical ownership.
