Join Leidos' Homeland Group as a Field Service Technician - Journeyman, supporting the IBD-SS program's Non-Intrusive Inspection Systems (NIIS) in CENTCOM and Horn of Africa operations. Deliver innovative solutions for 'can't fail' missions in force protection, cybersecurity, and intelligence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical, electronic maintenance, fault detection, and repairs on radiation and backscatter NIIS systems.
  • Conduct site surveys, installs/de-installs, testing, and preventive maintenance (PMCS) on systems and vehicle chassis.
  • Train military operators, update databases/work orders, and generate reports.
  • Travel OCONUS via military conveyances, supporting extended 84-hour work weeks in austere environments.
  • Use hand/power tools, diagnostic equipment, schematics; perform minor vehicle/generator maintenance.

What Sets You Apart

BA/BS + 5-8 years experience (or 12 years without degree), Radiation Safety Certification, and active US Secret clearance required. Must have valid passport, deployment fitness, and ability to lift 50 lbs in hot/cold non-climate-controlled settings. Supervisory experience a plus.

Preferred Experience

  • Force Protection systems like BETSS-C, Cerberus, Scout, IBD-K, RDISS.
  • Operator training on NIIS; COLTS/GCSS-A utilization.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid US passport with 2+ years validity and 4+ blank pages (experience)
  • Ability to meet deployment fitness standards for SWA operations (experience)
  • Capable of lifting 50 lbs, climbing ladders, and working in austere environments (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, fault isolation, and repairs on NIIS hardware including radiation and backscatter systems
  • Conduct site surveys, installations, de-installations, and operator training
  • Execute preventive maintenance and sustainment on systems and vehicle chassis
  • Update databases, track work orders, and report job status and issues
  • Travel OCONUS to CENTCOM and Horn of Africa areas, supporting up to 84-hour work weeks
  • Analyze system operations, use diagnostic tools, and read electronic schematics
  • Perform minor vehicle/generator maintenance and generate data reports
  • Interact professionally with military customers and potentially supervise technicians
