Leidos is seeking a skilled Field/Base Communications Network Technician for the Service Management, Integration and Transport (SMIT) contract in Fallon, NV. As the largest IT services program for the Navy, SMIT delivers the core backbone of the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI), encompassing cybersecurity, network operations, service desk, and data transport. Unify shore-based networks, enhance capabilities, and drive cost savings on this critical enterprise network mission.
This role demands physical capability: lift/carry 50 lbs up to 100 feet, 25 lbs on ladders; work in confined spaces, noisy data centers; stand/sit 8+ hours; use hand tools for rack mounting; normal color vision, 20/20 correctable vision, depth perception; drive corporate vehicles (valid license required). Local/overnight travel may be needed.
Associate degree preferred with 2+ years related experience. Proven knowledge in network operations, fault diagnosis, repair, installation, cabling, troubleshooting, and policy interpretation. Thrive in dynamic, team-oriented, fast-paced environments.
