Fire Protection Engineer - Join Leidos NISC Team

Leidos seeks a skilled Fire Protection Engineer with Fire Life Safety expertise for the FAA National Airspace System Integration Support Contract (NISC). This remote role supports the FAA's Fire Life Safety (FLS) Program, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and protecting critical air traffic facilities.

Key Responsibilities

Program Support & Guidance

  • Develop FLS code analyses using ICC, NFPA standards, and FAA orders.
  • Provide expert guidance on codes applicability to FAA missions and facilities.
  • Author white papers and technical proposals for stakeholders.

Condition Risk Assessments (CRA)

  • Perform surveys on ATCT, TRACON, ARTCC facilities against NFPA 101, 13, 20, 72, 75.
  • Evaluate OSHA-required Emergency Action Plans, Fire Prevention Plans, and drills.
  • Coordinate sites, maintain CRA schedules, and travel up to 50% in central US.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's + 4 years or Master's + 2 years relevant experience.
  • PE License or EIT; Leidos supports PE attainment.
  • Proven FLS program consultation, design, and training experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • FAA NAS or federal facility experience.
  • Knowledge of 29 CFR 1960.20 and fire system maintenance training.
