The Leidos Defense Sector in Beavercreek, OH is seeking a talented Firmware Design Engineer to join our high-performance team tackling customers’ most challenging problems. Primary Responsibilities

• Review and understand current firmware designs and implementations
• Modify existing and create novel firmware designs to function on new hardware systems
• Define requirements for new firmware and DSP systems
• Collaborate with other firmware developers to implement, improve, and validate designs
• Support field test activities by operating equipment and troubleshooting issues

Basic Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
• Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
• Experience with Verilog/VHDL, Digital Signal Processing, MATLAB, C/C++, laboratory test equipment (Oscilloscope, Spectrum Analyzer, Signal Generator), digital/analog/RF circuits, Enterprise Linux, and scripting languages
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
• Ability to clearly articulate conclusions via technical reports and documents

Preferred Qualifications

• Active Secret (or higher) security clearance
• Familiarity with embedded software design, revision control (git, SVN), Vivado/Vitis, Modelsim/Questasim, RHEL, and Open Systems Architectures
