Join Leidos Defense Sector as a Firmware Design Engineer

The Leidos Defense Sector in Beavercreek, OH, is seeking a talented Firmware Design Engineer to join our growing, high-performance team. Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers to implement innovative firmware solutions and support related DSP and software tasks.

Primary Responsibilities

• Review and understand existing firmware designs and implementations
• Modify designs to correct issues or add new functionality
• Develop new firmware and DSP subsystems based on requirements
• Collaborate with firmware developers to enhance and validate designs
• Support field testing by operating equipment and troubleshooting problems

Basic Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
• 2+ years relevant professional or project experience
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
• Proficiency in Verilog/VHDL, MATLAB, C/C++
• Experience with lab equipment: Oscilloscope, Spectrum Analyzer, Signal Generator
• Linux proficiency
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and technical writing skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Active Secret (or higher) security clearance
• Experience in Digital Signal Processing (DSP)
• Embedded software design
• Knowledge of digital, analog, and RF circuits
• Revision control tools (git, SVN)
• Scripting languages
