Join Leidos as a Guidance, Navigation and Control Engineer

Dynetics, a Leidos Company, is seeking a talented Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Engineer to join our diverse team in Huntsville, AL. We're creating unique solutions for complex problems in defense, space, cyber, and commercial fields. Support developmental efforts for air, land, and sea launched flight systems on high-profile programs like AGM-190/A Small Cruise Missile, US SOCOM’s GBU 69/B Small Glide Munition, Hypersonic Missile programs, DARPA’s Gremlins, and rapid development initiatives with concept-to-flight timelines in months.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and analyze guidance, navigation, and autopilot algorithms.
  • Implement in 6DOF simulations, Hardware-In-the-Loop (HWIL) facilities, and operational flight software.
  • Conduct trade studies, performance validation, verification techniques.
  • Support flight tests with pre- and post-flight analyses.
  • Mentor and train engineering staff on accelerated schedules.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in engineering/physics + 2+ years in feedback control, trajectory optimization, guidance/navigation/optimal estimation.
  • Strong math: linear algebra, matrix math, statistics, trigonometry, coordinate transformations.
  • Proficient in MATLAB, Simulink, C/C++.
  • Technical communication; team/independent work.
  • Resident of North Alabama or willing to relocate to Huntsville.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with DoD digital engineering.
  • Experience in terrestrial navigation, SAASM, M-Code, GPS-denied ops.
  • MS degree or higher.

  • Solid technical communication skills, team and independent work (experience)

Responsibilities
