Leidos Homeland Sector seeks a dynamic Full Stack Software Developer Team Lead to drive Agile development for the Passenger Systems Program Directorate (PSPD) within U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). This hands-on role demands expertise in architecting, designing, building, and enhancing scalable, real-time systems. Lead a team of three senior developers in delivering JAVA full stack applications, exercising judgment on optimal designs amid business objectives and constraints. Participate across the software development lifecycle, from estimation to deployment.

Key Leadership Responsibilities

  • Guide development efforts for successful delivery.
  • Mentor developers, monitor performance, resolve blockers.
  • Lead PI Planning, architecture, and cross-team collaboration.
  • Brief stakeholders on progress, testing, and releases.

Technical Hands-On Duties

  • Build front-ends with Angular, Material UI; develop APIs.
  • Maintain code quality, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud deployments on AWS EKS.
  • Collaborate on requirements and troubleshoot issues.

Hybrid Schedule: Requires onsite presence in Ashburn, VA twice weekly. CBP Background Investigation required.

Basic Qualifications

  • BA/BS +12 years or Masters +10 years experience (or equivalent).
  • 8+ years with Angular, Java, Spring Boot, AWS, databases, microservices, Agile, DevOps.
  • Strong communication, leadership, Jira/Confluence proficiency.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active DoD TS or DHS CBP BI.
  • Deep full stack Java, AWS app dev, containerization expertise.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (experience)
  • Experience leading Agile teams and PI Planning (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Guide team development for project delivery

  • Coordinate schedules and program-wide releases
  • Lead PI Planning technically, groom objectives, architect solutions
  • Facilitate cross-team collaboration on development, testing, deployment

  • Maintain code coverage and CM processes
  • Build front-end applications and APIs
  • Ensure software quality via best practices and automated testing
  • Identify team growth areas
