Job Description

Join Leidos as a Geologist in Earth City, MO

Leidos seeks an experienced Geologist for full-time environmental projects supporting federal missions like FUSRAP. Perform scientific studies, environmental sampling, and data analysis for investigation, cleanup, and stewardship at National Priority List sites. Expect up to 25% travel for field support under senior supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently author reports, work plans, and summaries; coordinate with Task Manager on priorities and deadlines.
  • Gather property data, satellite imagery, surveys, and analytical results from diverse sources.
  • Conduct MARSSIM-guided evaluations, statistical tests, and risk assessments using tools like ProUCL and RESRAD.
  • Compile comprehensive tables, figures, and reports consistent with regulations; address client/regulator feedback.
  • Manage databases, site inspections, and field sampling (soil, water, air) in outdoor conditions.
  • Participate in client meetings, coach peers, and complete required training.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in geology/environmental science/related field + 4 years experience, or Master’s + 2 years.
  • Excellent technical writing and MS Office skills.
  • Understanding of regulations, contamination, and health/environmental impacts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Radiological remediation and MARSSIM experience.
  • ProUCL, RESRAD, environmental databases, CERCLA familiarity.
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
