Leidos seeks a Human-Centered AI Research Intern for Internal Research and Development (IRAD) projects advancing agentic AI solutions that prioritize human needs. Join a multidisciplinary team at the intersection of AI, human factors, and mission impact to prototype explainable, trustworthy AI systems for complex environments.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop research approaches evaluating human-AI collaboration in agentic systems.
- Conduct original research in human-AI interaction, explainable/trustworthy AI, predictive analytics, AI ethics.
- Collaborate with AI/ML experts using Agile and research-driven workflows.
- Analyze data for patterns and insights impacting human decision-making.
- Communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Contribute to deployable prototypes and tools.
- Apply tailored research and evaluation strategies.
Basic Qualifications
- Enrolled in Bachelor's in Psychology, Computer Science, Data Science or related.
- Familiarity with AI/ML tools, Python libraries.
- Understanding of ML algorithms, statistical modeling, data analysis.
- Research methodologies: experimental design, hypothesis testing, evaluation.
- Self-starter with curiosity and adaptability.
- Strong communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Interest/experience in human-centered AI, ethics, explainability.
- Familiarity with statistics, data visualization.
- Willingness to learn new tools and methods.
