Join Leidos as a Human Factors Research Intern

Leidos is seeking a motivated Human Factors Research Intern to support groundbreaking work in human factors and data science. Based in our Arlington, VA office (with options in San Diego, CA), this role offers flexible remote or onsite arrangements. Work alongside researchers and engineers on innovative projects that adapt cutting-edge data science technologies to real-world applications, including prototype development, research paper drafting, and supporting vital human factors programs.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Under project lead direction, analyze internal projects and artifacts to create innovative data science solutions.
  • Assist in analyzing and interpreting experimental results for senior researchers and decision-makers.
  • Deliver clear communication of plans and results through written reports and presentations.
  • Adapt data science tools to novel applications, build prototypes, and contribute to research publications.
  • Independently develop, defend, execute, and present comprehensive research plans.

Basic Qualifications

  • Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related technical field.
  • Proficiency in programming languages like Java, Scala, C/C++, Ruby, Rust, or Python.
  • Completed coursework in human factors.
  • Eligible for DoD security clearance (US citizenship required).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with human factors theories and technologies.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and experience in human factors research.
