Leidos seeks an experienced Risk Assessment Scientist to lead human health risk assessments for environmental projects. Work remotely or from offices in Reston, VA; Twinsburg, OH; or St. Louis, MO. Interface with project managers, senior staff, and teams across Leidos offices. Excel in a collaborative environment with strong communication and organizational skills. U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident required for government site access.
Key Challenges
- Develop conceptual site models, select toxicity values, calculate risks, and analyze uncertainties.
- Author risk sections for work plans, RI reports, FS, PP, and ROD.
- Support ecological risk assessments and interpret sampling data.
- Handle diverse tasks and travel periodically.
Required Education & Experience
- BS/MS in relevant field + 4/2 years in human health risk assessments.
- Expertise in EPA guidance, CERCLA processes, risk calculations via spreadsheets.
- Data management, stats (UCLs, ProUCL), data validation knowledge.
- Federal regulator experience; MS Office proficiency.
Desired Qualifications
- PFAS/radiological risk experience; ecological assessments.
- RCRA/CERCLA knowledge; federal/state regulator work; PhD preferred.
