Join Leidos as an HVAC Technician in Springfield, VA

Leidos is seeking a skilled, licensed HVAC Technician for federal construction and renovation projects. Install, maintain, and repair advanced heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems while ensuring compliance with strict federal standards. Primary Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, and service HVAC systems: ductwork, chillers, boilers, air handlers, and control systems.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents to execute precise HVAC layouts.
• Conduct start-ups, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning to optimize system performance.
• Guarantee all work aligns with project specifications, local mechanical codes, and Davis-Bacon labor standards.
• Collaborate seamlessly with general contractors, electricians, plumbers, and other trades on-site.
• Uphold site-specific safety policies, OSHA regulations, and document hours for certified payroll (WH-347).
• Prepare systems for inspections, ensuring full code compliance and federal site readiness.

Basic Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance (required for federal access).
• Valid HVAC license or certification in Virginia.
• EPA 608 Certification.
• 3–5 years of commercial HVAC installation and service experience.
• Proficiency reading blueprints and mechanical drawings.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC controls, components, safety standards, and background check eligibility.
• Reliable transportation and proven punctuality.

Preferred Qualifications

• OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
• Experience with certified payroll processes and Davis-Bacon projects.
• Work history on military bases, public schools, housing authorities, or government sites.
• Expertise in Building Automation Systems (BAS) and DDC controls.
