Leidos seeks a skilled Industrial Hygiene Technician to support critical occupational health initiatives at the NASA John H. Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio. This on-site role demands expertise in industrial hygiene principles to safeguard researchers in high-stakes environments. Work under the Lead Industrial Hygienist, applying fundamental concepts to evaluate and control workplace hazards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and mitigate environmental stressors in research and industrial settings to prevent health risks.
  • Implement programs for local exhaust ventilation, indoor air quality, AEDs, and more.
  • Conduct ventilation flow tests, diagnose issues, and ensure compliance.
  • Maintain and calibrate IH equipment for air quality and moisture assessments during incidents.
  • Apply standards from OSHA, ASHRAE, ACGIH, NIOSH, and NASA NPR 1800.1.
  • Produce detailed reports, present findings, and drive continuous improvements via annual reviews.
  • Support ancillary programs like food safety, Legionella, ergonomics, and plumbing.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree in relevant field + 2 years experience (Bachelor's substitutes).
  • Strong PC skills, communication, multitasking, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Solution-focused mindset; physical ability for ladders.
  • U.S. Citizenship/Permanent Residency for Public Trust clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree + 0-2 years experience.

  • Calibrate IH equipment, collect data during water intrusion events
  • Interpret OSHA/ACGIH/NIOSH standards & NASA NPR 1800.1
  • Document findings, write reports, present recommendations
  • Conduct annual program reviews & support food safety/ergonomics
