Join Leidos as an Insider Threat Program Database Engineer

Leidos is seeking a skilled Database Engineer to support the DHS Insider Threat Program (ITP) under the HEITS Contract. This dynamic role involves designing, sustaining, and evolving database infrastructure critical to identifying and mitigating insider threats through advanced analytics, monitoring, and data correlation. Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and support the ITP database backend infrastructure.
  • Perform routine maintenance: reindexing, backups, transaction log truncation, cluster management.
  • Design and implement database encryption solutions (e.g., Transparent Data Encryption - TDE).
  • Document and maintain configuration baselines.
  • Develop and execute system recapitalization plans for capacity growth.
  • Serve as the SME for all database infrastructure.
  • Create and optimize stored procedures, queries, and views.
  • Support data warehouse features and integrations.
  • Optimize database schemas for referential integrity, cascading transactions, indexing, and performance.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years or Master’s with 10+ years relevant experience.
  • Expertise in Oracle database management, upgrades, and maintenance.
  • Experience with SQL, PostgreSQL, and other database types.
  • Ability to integrate diverse data types into cloud containers (e.g., AWS S3).
  • Strong understanding of DBMS and database design principles.
  • Experience with database migrations and data lake/repository connectors.
  • Eligibility to obtain DHS EOD SCI clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in IT Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years in IT service delivery management.
  • Familiarity with User Activity Monitoring platforms.
  • Experience with Everfox High Speed Guard Platform.
  • Proficiency with Oracle, Microsoft SQL, PostgreSQL, or other DBMS.
