Leidos is seeking a seasoned IT Security Engineer to safeguard critical information systems using NIST RMF, FISMA, and FIPS frameworks. In this hybrid role near Kennedy Space Center, you'll drive risk management, vulnerability assessments, and compliance strategies in a collaborative team environment. Outthink the status quo—disrupt, provoke, and excel in high-stakes federal cybersecurity missions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead cybersecurity support for Authorization Packages (AP), including Privacy Analysis, System Categorizations, Risk Assessment Reports (RAR), System Security Plans (SSP), and A&A oversight to secure Authorization to Operate (ATO).
- Act as enterprise SSP focal point, aiding Information System Owners (ISO) and Information System Security Officials (ISSO) with RMF duties.
- Build and track Plans of Action & Milestones (POA&Ms) for ongoing monitoring and security enhancements.
- Partner with Information System Administrators (ISA) and Engineering teams to embed security in new and legacy systems.
- Monitor IT innovations, emerging threats, and technologies to proactively strengthen security posture.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master’s in Cybersecurity, IT Management, or related field + 10 years information security experience.
- Expertise in networking, OS functionality, cloud environments, and security tools; ability to create topology diagrams and CONOPS.
- Deep knowledge of NIST, FISMA, FIPS; FedRAMP exposure; Security Control Audits experience.
- MS Office proficiency; IT projects in Waterfall/Agile. Certifications like CompTIA Security+ a plus.
- Hybrid remote; must commute to Kennedy Space Center as needed.
