Job Description

Join Leidos as a Junior Application Developer

Leidos Homeland is seeking a highly motivated Junior Application Developer to support our Airports, Borders and Security FBI portfolio. This role involves supporting Facilities technical IT contracts, understanding customer needs, and creating tailored applications. Operate independently with limited supervision while building strong relationships within the division and with external Government customers. Note: This position is on a future contract pending award announcement. US citizenship and active TS clearance required.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and maintain web-based, mobile, or desktop applications per business requirements.
  • Collaborate with senior developers to design solutions and implement features.
  • Write clean, efficient, well-documented code following standards.
  • Debug issues, bugs, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Participate in code reviews and learn modern practices.
  • Document technical specs, architecture, and workflows.
  • Collaborate with QA, design, and project management teams.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies in the company’s tech stack.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related (or equivalent).
  • Basic programming knowledge (Java, C#, Python, JavaScript).
  • Web tech familiarity (HTML, CSS, JS, React/Angular).
  • Database experience (SQL/NoSQL).
  • Git knowledge.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Eagerness to learn.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Internship/project experience in software development.
  • Agile/Scrum exposure.
  • Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • REST APIs and backend development.
  • SAFe, ITIL, DevSecOps experience.
  • Background in communications, hardware/software fabrication, cloud integration, or test/evaluation.
