Leidos Health & Services Sector seeks a Junior Behavioral Science Technical Contributor to support the Department of Defense's critical personnel testing and assessment mission in Seaside, CA. This role offers 75% remote work with occasional on-site requirements, ideal for behavioral science professionals passionate about military accession testing like the ASVAB.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in item development, content reviews, and scoring for aptitude and proficiency tests.
  • Prepare datasets, perform data cleaning, and run descriptive statistics using R, SPSS, SAS, or Python.
  • Develop administration materials, research documentation, and technical summaries.
  • Support survey logistics, data collection, and psychometric analysis under senior guidance.
  • Contribute to test specifications, scoring algorithms, and continuous improvement of DoD testing programs.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s in psychology, I-O Psychology, Educational Measurement, Cognitive Science, Human Factors, or related + 2 years experience; OR Master’s degree.
  • Foundational knowledge of research methods, assessment principles, and basic psychometrics.
  • Strong communication, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • US Citizenship; eligible for DoD CAC, FBI check, and NACI.
  • Located or willing to commute to Seaside, CA.

Preferred Qualifications

  • DoD or federal testing experience, familiarity with DTAC or ASVAB.
  • Knowledge of military recruiting/classification and psychometric theories (CTT, IRT).
  • Experience in survey development, test cycles, or assessment programs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with item development, content reviews, and scoring processes for DoD assessments
  • Prepare datasets and conduct initial descriptive analyses using statistical software
  • Develop administration materials, research documentation, and technical reports
  • Support logistics for surveys, data collection, and operational test administration
  • Provide analytic and organizational support to senior behavioral science staff
