Join Leidos as a Junior Signal Processing Engineer in Beavercreek, OH

Leidos Innovation Center's Advanced Warfare Technology Division seeks a Junior Signal Processing Engineer to support cutting-edge remote sensing programs. Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of Electrical Engineers, Physicists, and Computer Scientists to design, develop, simulate, and integrate innovative algorithms into advanced sensor systems. This role offers hands-on experience implementing algorithms in FPGA-based systems and supporting full lifecycle integration, testing, verification, and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, model, and test algorithms using MATLAB, Python, and/or C/C++.
  • Design and implement algorithms in hardware descriptor languages like VHDL and Verilog from customer requirements or MATLAB models.
  • Analyze simulation and real-world data to pinpoint root causes and emerging trends.
  • Conduct analytical research, engineering design, development, testing, and technical assignments under team or task lead guidance.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics or related fields with 2+ years relevant experience, or MS degree.
  • US citizenship; eligible for TS/SCI clearance (active Secret preferred).
  • Proficiency in MATLAB, Linux, Python, C/C++, Java; VHDL/Verilog coding.
  • Knowledge of signal processing fundamentals (FFTs, filtering, etc.) and scientific programming.
  • Experience in image and signal processing; excellent communication skills.
  • Team player with independent work capability and adaptability to new challenges.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expertise in computer vision, parallel programming, sensor physics, machine learning, deep learning, or GPU programming.

Required Qualifications

  • Plan and perform analytical research, design, development, testing, and technical assignments
  • Support integration, testing, verification, and documentation of sensor systems
