Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Architect and implement event-based platforms using Confluent Kafka, Apache Flink, Kafka Connect, and modern tools like Java/SpringBoot or Python.
- Work with customers to expand Kafka adoption.
- Strategize new technologies and data streaming to warehouses/microservices.
- Define best practices and mentor on event modeling/data integrity.
- Triage issues, influence solutions, and brief stakeholders.
Foundation for Success
Required: Bachelor’s in CS/engineering/math (12+ years exp.) or Master’s (10+ years). Public Trust clearance eligible. Expertise in Kafka Architecture, Confluent Kafka, Flink, Connect, and modern development.

- Expertise in application integration, enterprise services, or data modeling (experience)
Responsibilities
- Architect, design, code, and implement data streaming platforms using Confluent Kafka, Apache Flink, and Kafka Connect
- Collaborate with customers to expand Kafka usage within the agency
- Define strategies for streaming data to warehouses and integrating with microservices
- Establish Kafka best practices, standards, and integration patterns
- Mentor team members on event modeling, patterns, and data integrity
- Triage and resolve platform issues hands-on
- Influence data stream solutions impacting project goals
- Brief management, customers, and teams on technical matters
