Korean Toponymist - TS/SCI Required
Leidos seeks a skilled Korean Toponymist (Geospatial Linguist) to support critical Intelligence Community missions in St. Louis, MO. This role demands precision in analyzing geographic names data, ensuring accuracy for national security applications. Active TS/SCI clearance and willingness to obtain Polygraph are mandatory.
Primary Responsibilities
- Scan, geo-reference hardcopy maps, and conflate with GNDB using agency tools.
- Research geospatial sources and commercial imagery for reference.
- Interpret US BGN, DoS, NATO policies on Romanization and names treatment.
- Refine names data via GNPS, charts, imagery, and geospatial tools for products.
- Respond to Ad Hoc queries and update GNDB with batched, accurate entries.
Minimum Qualifications
- HS + 5 years experience; BA + 4 years or MA + 2 years preferred.
- Korean ILR 2/2 reading (DLPT5) or testable equivalent + 3 years relevant work.
- Proficiency in ArcGIS/GeoMedia Pro, shapefiles, geodatabases, map extraction, imagery analysis.
- Active TS/SCI + Polygraph willingness REQUIRED.
Desired Qualifications
- Agency-specific geographic names processing experience.
- Self-starter capable of independent work, multitasking, and team collaboration.
- BA/MA in relevant field with experience substitution possible.
