Kubernetes Engineer - Leidos Digital Modernization Sector
Join Leidos in Colorado Springs, CO, supporting US Space Force's Space Systems Command (SSC) Kobayashi Maru program. Leverage Kubernetes to deliver resilient solutions for software deployment across test, IL4 dev, IL6 prod, and classified environments. Thrive in Agile with daily standups, sprints, retrospectives, and roadmap execution.
Primary Responsibilities
- Secure/configure containerized services; tune performance via metrics/dashboards (Prometheus/Grafana).
- Lead lifecycle mgmt of services; troubleshoot with RCAs/postmortems.
- Establish SLOs/SRE metrics; manage north-south/east-west traffic.
- Ensure patching, resource optimization, auto-scaling without overprovisioning.
- Design/manage HA clusters across cloud (Azure/AWS/GCP/OCI) & on-prem for 14 teams/thousands users.
- Automate IaC/CI-CD; develop Helm charts; integrate Istio/ELK observability.
- Implement security (RBAC/policies); monitor workloads/storage; optimize distributed apps.
- Collaborate DevSecOps; mentor juniors; support upgrades/DR/NIST/CIS/FedRAMP.
Basic Qualifications
- BS Computer Science/STEM +8yrs or MS +6yrs (exp substitutable).
- US Citizen; Active DoD TS/SCI eligible.
- 8yrs Kubernetes eng; 2yrs SRE; CKA/CKAD/KCNA cert.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s in CS.
- Advanced EKS/AKS/GKE; hybrid IaaS/cloud; cloud-native storage/networking/security.
