Key Responsibilities
- Translation: Accurately translate digital/hard copy materials from Kurdish/Arabic to English and vice versa, capturing nuances, cultural/geopolitical references, and subject-specific terminology.
- Interpretation: Deliver consecutive interpretation (occasional simultaneous), ensuring fidelity, fluency, and dialect/cultural context awareness.
- Transcription: Transcribe audio/internet content efficiently, producing English reports with nuanced dialect understanding.
- Gisting/Summarization: Extract and summarize critical facts/abstract concepts from large datasets using reference materials.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s + 4-8 years or Master’s + 2-6 years relevant experience (substitutable).
- Translation/interpretation degree desired; HLT experience a plus.
- Pass Leidos language test at Primary level or higher in Kurdish (Sorani) and Arabic.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and online research.
- Able to obtain TS/SCI with polygraph (no clearance needed to apply; sponsored post-testing).
Preferred Qualifications
- Deployed linguist experience in contingency operations.
- Familiarity with U.S. Intelligence Community, military, or law enforcement.
- Briefing skills and multi-language proficiency.
Additional Requirements
- Mandatory OCONUS travel with 24/7 support.
- Pass medical/physical screen, weapons training, and sponsor training.
