Key Responsibilities

  • Translation: Accurately translate digital/hard copy materials from Kurdish/Arabic to English and vice versa, capturing nuances, cultural/geopolitical references, and subject-specific terminology.
  • Interpretation: Deliver consecutive interpretation (occasional simultaneous), ensuring fidelity, fluency, and dialect/cultural context awareness.
  • Transcription: Transcribe audio/internet content efficiently, producing English reports with nuanced dialect understanding.
  • Gisting/Summarization: Extract and summarize critical facts/abstract concepts from large datasets using reference materials.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s + 4-8 years or Master’s + 2-6 years relevant experience (substitutable).
  • Translation/interpretation degree desired; HLT experience a plus.
  • Pass Leidos language test at Primary level or higher in Kurdish (Sorani) and Arabic.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and online research.
  • Able to obtain TS/SCI with polygraph (no clearance needed to apply; sponsored post-testing).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Deployed linguist experience in contingency operations.
  • Familiarity with U.S. Intelligence Community, military, or law enforcement.
  • Briefing skills and multi-language proficiency.

Additional Requirements

  • Mandatory OCONUS travel with 24/7 support.
  • Pass medical/physical screen, weapons training, and sponsor training.
