What You’ll Do
Translation
- Accurately translate digital/hard copy materials from Kyrgyz or Uzbek to English and vice versa.
- Capture nuances, cultural, geopolitical, and ethnic references using subject-appropriate terminology.
Interpretation
- Deliver consecutive interpretation; occasional simultaneous required.
- Maintain fluency across dialects and cultural contexts.
Transcription
- Transcribe audio/internet content into precise English reports.
- Handle dialectical variations effectively.
Gisting and Summarization
- Summarize key facts and concepts from large datasets.
- Prioritize critical information using reference materials.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s + 4-8 years or Master’s + 2-6 years experience (substitutable).
- Translation/interpretation degree desired; HLT experience a plus.
- Pass Leidos language test at Primary level or higher.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and research tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Deployed linguist experience in contingency operations.
- Familiarity with U.S. Intelligence Community, military, or law enforcement.
- Briefing skills and multi-language proficiency.
Additional Requirements
- No clearance needed to apply; TS/SCI with polygraph sponsored post-testing.
- Mandatory sponsor training, medical/physical screens, weapons training.
- OCONUS travel required with 24/7 support.
