Laboratory Manager Opportunity at Leidos

Join Leidos' Exploration and Environmental Division as a Laboratory Manager at our onsite USACE FUSRAP laboratory in Vandergrift, PA. This critical role supports environmental remediation projects, focusing on radiochemistry lab procurement, setup, development, and management. Expect a split shift schedule (e.g., 0930–2000 or 0600–1430) based on project needs, with potential support for other Leidos labs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight of lab instrumentation, including radiological counting systems and ICP/MS, while maintaining charts.
  • Supervise and train staff to ensure sample throughput and turnaround times are met.
  • Develop and revise radiochemical and inorganic analysis methods to enhance performance.
  • Successfully report on Performance Evaluation Sample Analysis Programs.
  • Review data for quality compliance with regulatory programs and project objectives.
  • Coordinate with Data Management Group and project team for seamless operations.
  • Maintain compliance with environment, safety, health, and quality standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Chemistry or related field + 5+ years in radiochemistry lab management.
  • Proficiency in environmental data validation, QA/QC, and lab methods.
  • Familiarity with lab instrumentation and Microsoft Office tools.
  • U.S. citizenship/permanent residency; public trust clearance eligibility.
  • Ability to pass BeLPT test and medical exam for Beryllium work; flexible shift availability.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's in Chemistry, Radiochemistry, or Nuclear Chemistry.
  • Prior Beryllium analysis experience using ICP-MS and Optical Fluorescence.
