Job Description

Lead I/T Solutions Architect

Join Leidos on the critical AGUN program supporting the US Army's global wide area network and security infrastructure. This leadership role demands expert technical management for complex network design, implementation, migration, and operations.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Engineering Program Manager and Chief Engineer across full system lifecycle.
  • Lead network and security engineers focusing on AGUN network engineering.
  • Develop SDN assessments, analyses, solutions, diagrams, and architectural views.
  • Execute requirement gathering and best-practice solutions.
  • Ensure US Army/DoD cybersecurity compliance and legacy integrations.
  • Maintain expertise in evolving technologies and drive innovations.
  • Direct multi-discipline teams in design, IaC, testing, cybersecurity, operations.
  • Analyze secure WAN underlay/overlay/transport for performance/security.
  • Support ZTNA policies and legacy firewall/security zone migrations.
  • Integrate capacity planning into operational processes.
  • Optimize networks for capacity/performance standards.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s +20 years or Master’s +15 years experience.
  • 10/15 years recent Network Engineer in production.
  • CCIE/JNCIE or equivalent.
  • 5/7 years SDN project delivery.
  • SME: SD-WAN, MPLS, NGFW, ZTNA.
  • Team leadership experience.
  • 2+ vendors: Cisco/Juniper/Palo Alto/Versa/Dell/AppGate.
  • Strong communication; senior briefings.
  • IAT Level II; SECRET clearance eligible.

Preferred Qualifications

  • IAT Level III.
  • Cloud solution design.
  • 2 years ISP experience.
  • Cisco SD-WAN/Palo Alto NGFW hands-on.
  • NetSecOps: Git/Gitlab/Ansible/Terraform.
  • 5 years DoD network design/ops.

US Citizenship required. Remote US-based telework.

  • IAT Level II Certification (experience)
  • Active SECRET clearance eligible (US Citizenship) (experience)
  • Excellent communication for senior stakeholder briefings (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Lead team of network/security engineers for AGUN full lifecycle
  • Conduct assessments, analysis, solution development for SDN with diagrams
  • Gather requirements and engineer solutions per best practices
  • Ensure compliance with US Army/DoD cybersecurity policies
  • Champion new tech insertion and evolve network management
  • Provide technical direction across design, IaC, testing, cyber, ops
  • Analyze secure WAN connectivity (underlay/overlay/transport)
  • Support ZTNA access policies and legacy firewall migrations
  • Integrate capacity planning/scaling into operations
  • Identify network optimization strategies for performance
