Lead Malware Reverse Engineer at Leidos
Join Leidos' Homeland Sector as a Lead Malware Reverse Engineer SME, supporting mission-critical malware analysis for national defensive cyber operations. Leverage your expertise in reverse engineering to detect and defeat cyber threats alongside top cybersecurity professionals.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end malware processing: ingest, triage, ticketing, prioritization, assignments, tracking, and reporting using SOPs and Playbooks.
- Oversee production for high-quality, timely products.
- Escalate issues to leadership, recommend fixes, and deliver briefs.
- Lead team in dynamic environments like watch floors or joint ops.
- Develop mitigation strategies including YARA/SIGMA rules based on threats and TTPs.
Basic Qualifications
- 10+ years in cybersecurity analytics, threat research, coding, reverse engineering.
- Active TS/SCI clearance.
- Expertise with tools like disassemblers, debuggers, VM, sniffers; skills in app/network security, assembly/web programming, obfuscation, encryption.
- Proven team leadership, critical thinking, multi-mission coordination.
- Advanced research on malware/vulnerabilities; tool development experience.
- Bachelor’s or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- CISA/DHS SME experience.
- APT analysis, YARA crafting, secure analysis environments.
