Lead Substation Physical Design Engineer at Leidos

Join Leidos' Power Delivery Services Team, ranked in the Top 10 T&D and Power Firms by ENR, delivering innovative solutions for utilities, municipalities, and renewable energy integration. Work on high-voltage substation projects (12kV-500kV) in a fast-paced, hybrid environment in Walled Lake, MI.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead execution of substation physical design projects with strict adherence to scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Design and review critical drawings: one-line, three-line, plan-section, foundation, and grounding.
  • Perform QC checks, create BOMs, and conduct grounding/lightning protection studies.
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and CAD technicians using client standards.
  • Travel to client sites for inspections and support safe work practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or related with 8+ years substation physical design experience.
  • Strong skills in communication, problem-solving, and working independently or in teams.
  • High computer competency; experience with WinIGS/CDEGS a plus.
  • US Citizen able to pass DOE background check.
