Lead Substation Physical Engineer at Leidos

We're seeking a Lead Substation Physical Engineer to design high-voltage substations (12kV-500kV) integrating renewable energy into the grid. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead execution of substation physical projects with quality control oversight.
  • Design and review critical drawings: one-line, three-line, plan-section, foundations, grounding.
  • Prepare accurate bills of materials and conduct grounding/lightning protection studies.
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, CAD technicians, and clients to meet scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Travel to Charlotte, NC client sites for site visits and project support.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or related field + 8+ years substation physical design experience.
  • Proven communication skills, deadline management under pressure, and team leadership.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving, high computer competency, and self-starter mindset.
  • Willingness to travel.
