Join Leidos as Lead Transmission Line Engineer

Leidos, a Fortune 500™ company, is seeking a Lead Transmission Line Engineer to lead dynamic teams solving complex electric transmission challenges. Work 100% remotely (U.S. residency required; Mountain time zone preferred) on overhead and underground systems for major utilities, applying NESC, ASCE, ACI, NEC standards across 34.5 kV to 500 kV projects.

Key Leadership Responsibilities

  • Direct multiple design teams through planning, engineering, permitting, and construction phases using PLS-CADD modeling, structure loading, and procurement.
  • Manage staff: approve timesheets, conduct performance reviews, mentor talent, and drive recruiting for growth.
  • Lead business development: craft RFP responses, build client relationships, and capture new work.
  • Oversee project portfolios with proactive scope, schedule, and budget tracking alongside Leidos PMO.

Required Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Direct multiple design teams on transmission projects from 34.5 kV to 500 kV
  • Develop and supervise engineering team through training, coaching, and performance reviews
  • Create proposals and respond to RFPs, RFIs, RFQs for new business
  • Manage project portfolio including scope, schedules, budgets, and quality control
  • Foster client relationships and drive business development
  • Delegate tasks, forecast workloads, and lead recruiting for team growth
  • Promote innovation, process improvements, and automation in engineering workflows
  • Participate in leadership team for Transmission Line Section
