Lead Transmission Line Engineer at Leidos

Join Leidos as a Lead Transmission Line Engineer in Seattle, WA, managing dynamic teams on high-voltage electric transmission projects for major utilities. Serve as Lead Engineer and Technical Project Manager for overhead and underground systems from 34.5 kV to 765 kV, applying NESC, ASCE, ACI, NEC standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct teams in PLS-CADD modeling, structure loading, foundation design (MFAD/LPILE), framing, hardware, plans, specs, and BOMs across all project phases.
  • Lead client relations, staff management, proposals, scope changes, execution, and business capture.
  • Supervise timesheets, performance reviews, recruiting, and workload planning for growth.
  • Drive quality control, AI/automation innovations, and process improvements for grid modernization.
  • Liaise with clients to build long-term relationships and ensure portfolio success.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Civil/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering (Civil preferred); 8+ years experience (6+ with Master’s).
  • Expertise in PLS-CADD/PLS-POLE; EIT certification.
  • Strong team collaboration, independent work, client communication, business acumen, and mentoring passion.

Favorable Qualifications

  • 2+ years supervising staff; Master’s in Structural Engineering.
  • TOWER experience; P.E. or eligible within 6 months.
  • LPILE/FAD, Mathcad, AutoCAD/MicroStation, GIS.
