Job Description

Machine Learning Research Scientist

Join Leidos' Advanced Warfare Technology Division in Beavercreek, OH, and drive innovation in remote sensing technologies. As a Machine Learning Research Scientist, you'll tackle cutting-edge challenges in SAR/RF, acoustic, EO/IR, and LIDAR applications, developing algorithms for detection, tracking, data fusion, and classification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead technical projects in sensor exploitation, signal processing, and automatic target recognition (ATR).
  • Implement state-of-the-art AI/ML solutions using Python, C++, MATLAB, and PyTorch to enhance real-world ATR performance.
  • Collaborate with engineers, physicists, and scientists to integrate algorithms into sensor systems.
  • Participate in agile teams for rapid prototyping, sprint planning, testing, and retrospectives.
  • Design performance models, unit tests, and DOE/Combinatorial Testing frameworks.
  • Present technical solutions to customers and stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s (8+ years experience), Master’s (6+ years), or Doctorate in relevant field.
  • Expertise in ML/DL frameworks (PyTorch, Scikit-Learn) and computer vision.
  • Strong Python/C++ programming for Linux/Windows.
  • Experience with unit testing, documentation, and technical communication.
