Master Production Scheduler - Leidos Defense Systems

Join Leidos' Defense Systems Electronics Manufacturing Facility in Huntsville, AL, as a Master Production Scheduler. Lead a team of skilled planners to deliver exceptional results in electronics manufacturing, leveraging your expertise in Deltek Costpoint, APS/MES tools, and Dynafact DMS. Oversee scheduling for SMT lines, PCB assembly, testing, and integration across multiple programs.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership for production schedulers handling sequencing, order release, and tracking.
  • Maintain master schedules synchronized with MRP in Costpoint and MES/APS tools.
  • Validate material availability, pegging, and constraints like shortages and long-lead items.
  • Perform capacity analysis, forecast alignment, and bottleneck mitigation.
  • Track real-time progress, generate reports, and facilitate cross-functional reviews.
  • Drive continuous improvement, change control, and schedule risk analysis.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Supply Chain/Operations/Industrial Engineering + 8-12 years experience (or Master’s + 6-10 years; HS/GED + 10 years).
  • 5+ years in production planning/scheduling in manufacturing.
  • Expertise in MRP/MPS, capacity planning, data analysis.

  • 5+ years production planning/scheduling in manufacturing (experience)
  • Strong understanding of MRP/MPS, capacity planning, resource leveling (experience)
  • Proficiency in analyzing data and identifying trends (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop team of production schedulers for daily sequencing, order release, and progress tracking
  • Create and maintain weekly/monthly master production schedules across SMT, PCB/cable assembly, coating, test, and box-build operations
  • Synchronize MRP-planned orders in Costpoint with MES/APS execution schedules
  • Validate pegging, material availability, shortages, and constraints against MPS priorities
  • Analyze sales forecasts and demand for capacity alignment
  • Collaborate with Program Management, Supply Chain, and Production on schedules and milestones
  • Conduct rough-cut capacity analysis and bottleneck mitigation
  • Track real-time production progress, adjust for delays, monitor performance metrics
  • Generate reports on order status, progress, and inventory
  • Facilitate cross-functional schedule review meetings and drive continuous improvement
