Job Description

Material Planner – Drive Mission-Critical Supply Chain at Leidos

Join Leidos in Springfield, VA, as a Material Planner supporting high-stakes defense programs. Outthink, outbuild, and outpace the status quo in a role demanding precision, collaboration, and innovation. Work with program stakeholders to generate material requirements, execute acquisition plans from start to finish, and align procurement with production, logistics, finance, and business needs. Resolve quality, delivery, and payment issues while ensuring compliance in a regulated environment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to forecast needs, adjust procurement strategies, and coordinate with supply chain for expediting and priorities.
  • Manage inventory to meet operational demands and initiate/track procurement for on-time deliveries.
  • Evaluate suppliers on quality, cost, service; negotiate with vendors for optimal outcomes.
  • Maintain records of purchases, pricing, vendor performance; resolve delays, discrepancies, and invoice issues.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, DFARS/FAR regulations, and contracts; handle warranties and monitor market trends for improvements.

Basic Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI w/Poly clearance required.
  • Bachelor’s in Supply Chain, Business, Finance or related (4–8 years experience); Master’s (2–6 years); or equivalent certifications/military experience.
  • Expertise in procurement, supplier management, risk mitigation; strong communication, analytics, multitasking.
  • Proficiency in SAP, Oracle, Coupa, CostPoint.

Preferred Qualifications

  • DFARS/FAR compliance experience in defense/aerospace.
  • Certifications: CPSM, CSCP, NCMA CPCM/CFCM, PMP.
  • Buying/subcontracting, project management, advanced analytics, change management in regulated industries like EC-DAS.
