Leidos is seeking a talented Mid-Level Data Scientist to drive data-driven solutions for our Maritime Features mission area, including Surface, Publications, Events, Dissemination, Source Assessment, and Metrics. Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, process, and analyze complex datasets to uncover actionable insights.
  • Integrate and maintain protected data in database management systems (DBMS).
  • Clean, massage, and organize data for optimal usability.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses and communicate results through compelling visualizations and storytelling.
  • Develop and maintain Python scripts in ArcGIS to streamline production workflows.
  • Support cloud application creation, deployment, and maintenance for data migration.
  • Build tools to extract features and metadata from raster, vector, text, and database sources.
  • Assist in business process re-engineering, data conversion, and automated analytics.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 4-8 years relevant experience, or Master's with 2-6 years.
  • 1-3 years in data science: collection, processing, modeling, analytics.
  • 1-3 years with Tableau or equivalent BI tools.
  • 3-5 years programming (Python, Java, SQL) with Git version control.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Geospatial expertise: data conversions, projections, ESRI ArcGIS/ArcPro.
  • Experience with WMX, TAM, data quality tools like ArcGIS Data Reviewer.
  • Cloud architecture, DevOps, AI integration in geospatial workflows.
