Leidos is seeking licensed behavioral health professionals for the Child and Youth Behavioral Military Family Life Counselor (CYB-MFLC) role at Davis-Monthan AFB in Tucson, AZ. Provide vital non-medical counseling to military children, youth, parents, and staff facing unique challenges of military life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work directly in Child Development Centers (CDCs) with ages 0-5, after-school programs, and youth activities.
  • Engage in play, observe behaviors, coach staff/parents, and model positive techniques.
  • Conduct presentations on social-emotional learning and development.
  • Support transitions, attend community events, and promote creativity.
  • Report trends and participate in training; respond to on-base emergencies.

Work Environment

Expect 60% indoor CDC time (including floor-level interaction) and 40% outdoor activities on uneven terrain in varying weather. Travel within installation required; comply with military site protocols. Licensure portable nationwide per NDAA.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s or higher in Behavioral Health Professions.
  • Independent license: LCSW, MHC, MFT, LPCC, PsyD, or PhD from any U.S. state/territory.

  • Ability to work in indoor/outdoor military environments (experience)
  • Strong communication and rapport-building skills (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Provide non-medical counseling and support at Child Development Centers for children 0-5 and youth programs

  • Deliver presentations on social skills and emotional development
  • Assist with transitions like new schools/homes and build family rapport at events
  • Participate in training, report trends, and respond to emergent situations on base
