Leidos seeks licensed behavioral health professionals for the Child and Youth Behavioral Military and Family Life Counselor (CYB-MFLC) role at Fort Wainwright. Provide vital non-medical support to military children and families navigating unique challenges of military life, including frequent moves, deployments, and transitions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work directly in Child Development Centers (CDCs) with children 0-5, school-age programs, and youth activities.
  • Engage with children, coach staff and parents on behavior management, and deliver social emotional learning presentations.
  • Build family rapport through events and assist with adjustments to new environments.
  • Respond to crises across installation sites, including outdoor and rugged terrains.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to work in indoor/outdoor military installation environments (experience)
  • Strong communication and rapport-building skills (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Provide non-medical counseling, consultation, and outreach at Child Development Centers for children 0-5 and youth programs
  • Observe, engage, and model behavior management techniques for children, staff, and parents
  • Deliver presentations on social skills development and social emotional learning
  • Support children with transitions like new schools or homes and attend community events
  • Participate in in-service training, report trends to team leads, and respond to emergent situations on base
