Mission Systems Software Engineer

Build software for UUVs that navigate in the dark, think independently, and complete missions where failure is not an option. Leidos seeks a Mission Systems Software Engineer to develop command, control, and mission-planning software for uncrewed underwater vehicles and maritime autonomous platforms. Focus on systems that plan missions, communicate intent, manage execution, and adapt in real-time across contested RF environments.

Primary Responsibilities

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science/Software Engineering with 8-12 years or Master’s with 6-10 years experience.

  • Java proficiency in Linux for complex systems; distributed systems experience.
  • Systems thinking for operators/missions; containerized environments (Docker/VMware).
  • Agile tools (Jira, etc.); strong communication and professional integrity.
