Join Leidos' Defense Systems Sector as a Model-Based Systems Engineer
Leidos, a leader in defense, space, cyber, and commercial solutions, seeks a talented Model-Based Systems Engineer for our Huntsville, AL office. Join a diverse team tackling complex problems on programs like Hypersonics Weapons and IFPC Inc 2. Work in a matrixed environment across large prime contracts and subcontractor roles with top DoD contractors.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive SysML models in Cameo Systems Modeler, including system architecture, behavior diagrams, and customer-derived requirements.
- Collaborate with program management and design engineers across the full design lifecycle: modeling behavior, defining architecture, interfaces, requirements verification, test program development, and configuration management.
- Lead a team of 5 systems engineers in modeling efforts, providing guidance and interfacing with the model.
- Conduct verification audits using objective evidence for compliance assessments.
- Present technical artifacts in customer design reviews and act as liaison.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent from ABET-accredited university (2+ years experience) or Master’s degree.
- Proven experience with Cameo Systems Modeler (SysML) and Teamwork Cloud.
- Expertise in deriving requirements for complex systems.
- Strong collaborative skills in multi-disciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated team communication and leadership.
- Eligible for Secret clearance; resident or willing to relocate to Huntsville-North Alabama.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s in Systems Engineering; 2-4+ years direct SE experience.
- Experience with Sparx EA, IBM Rhapsody, UML, UPDM, DOORS.
- Knowledge of DoD acquisition processes; DoD/NASA/DARPA program support.
- OCSMP or INCOSE SEP (ASEP/CSEP) certifications.
