Leidos, a leader in defense, space, cyber, and commercial solutions, seeks a talented Model-Based Systems Engineer to join our diverse team in Huntsville, AL. Work on high-impact programs like Hypersonics Weapons and IFPC Inc 2, collaborating in a matrixed environment across engineering fields.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive SysML models in Cameo Systems Modeler, capturing system architecture, behavior diagrams, and customer-derived requirements.
- Support full systems engineering lifecycle: modeling behavior, defining architecture, interfaces, requirements verification, test program development, and configuration management.
- Lead a team of 5 Systems Engineers in modeling efforts, mentoring varying experience levels and ensuring model integrity.
- Conduct verification audits using objective evidence for compliance assessments.
- Present technical artifacts in customer design reviews and act as liaison in program meetings.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering field from ABET-accredited university +4 years experience, or Master’s +2 years.
- Proven SysML modeling in Cameo Systems Modeler and Teamwork Cloud.
- Requirements derivation for complex systems.
- Collaborative team player with leadership experience and strong communication skills.
- Eligible for Secret clearance; local to or willing to relocate to Huntsville, AL.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s in Systems Engineering; 2-4+ years direct SE experience.
- Familiarity with Sparx EA, IBM Rhapsody, UML, UPDM, DOORS.
- DoD acquisition knowledge; DoD/NASA/DARPA program support.
- OCSMP or INCOSE certifications (ASEP/CSEP).

- Perform verification audits, requirements verification, and configuration management
- Present systems engineering artifacts in formal design reviews and serve as customer liaison
