Job Description

Join Leidos Digital Modernization Team as a Network Engineer

Make a real impact by modernizing critical networks for government customers with Leidos. We're seeking a skilled Network Engineer to serve as the primary Base Area Network (BAN) technical expert for Air Combat Command (ACC) bases, including Abilene, TX. This role involves LAN architecture design, sustainment, and modernizations, representing Leidos to our government partners while collaborating in an integrated team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engineer network support across planning, design, and evaluation.
  • Specify architectures, gap analysis, technology recommendations, and needs assessments.
  • Implement configurations via change management.
  • Handle monitoring, installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of equipment.
  • Draft documentation, test participation, training development, project lifecycle support, and customer collaboration.

Basic Qualifications

  • BS + 8-12 years or Masters + 6-10 years experience (substitutable).
  • Active Secret clearance; US Citizen.
  • TCP/IP expertise (hardware, software, NAC, QoS, services, cabling).
  • IPv4/IPv6, CCC/DNAC/ISE, Zero Trust/C2C.
  • Required certification (e.g., CCNA, CCNP Security, CEH, etc.).
  • Strong communication for technical/non-technical audiences.

  • One of: SecurityX/CASP+, CCNA, CCNP Security, CEH, GCED, GCIA, GCLD, GDSA, GFACT, GIAC (experience)
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills (experience)
  • Ability to travel up to 50% to locations including Tucson AZ, Alamogordo NM, Omaha NE, Rapid City SD, Grand Forks ND (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Provide network engineering support including planning, designing, and evaluating network components
  • Develop specifications for network architecture, identify gaps, recommend new technologies, and perform needs assessments
  • Implement approved network configurations per local change management processes
  • Monitor, install, cable, modify, troubleshoot, repair, maintain, test, and service network equipment
  • Draft/review technical documentation, communicate requirements, participate in testing, develop training, support project lifecycle, and foster collaboration with government customers
