Join Leidos as an Operations Technician in Springfield, VA

Leidos Multi-Domain Solutions (MDS) division seeks a detail-oriented Operations Technician to ensure the seamless operation of critical mechanical and electrical systems in a large facility complex. Safeguard boilers, chillers, HVAC, generators, power distribution, and building automation systems supporting vital building operations and production.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor essential systems including boilers, chillers, HVAC, generators, pumps, and transformers.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance/repairs on mechanical and electrical infrastructure.
  • Respond swiftly to alarms, malfunctions, and issues under supervision.
  • Track performance via gauges, manual checks, and automated controls.
  • Analyze data to identify inefficiencies or predict failures.
  • Uphold safety procedures, operational standards, and regulations.
  • Assist in emergency responses for outages and critical incidents.
  • Document inspections, maintenance, and performance metrics accurately.
  • Collaborate with teams and supervisors for issue reporting and updates.

Basic Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
  • High school diploma + 5 years relevant experience (specialty skills/certs may substitute).
  • Knowledge of facilities operations, maintenance, and building codes.
  • Experience in budgeting, vendor coordination, and technical document interpretation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and facility systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s/Bachelor’s in Facilities Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • 4+ years managing facilities/space planning.
  • Certifications like IFMA FMP/CFM.
  • Advanced HVAC/plumbing/automation expertise.
  • CMMS experience, project management, sustainability knowledge.
