Join Leidos' Litigation Support Team at DOJ in Los Angeles

Leidos is seeking a skilled Paralegal Specialist – Trial Support to join our fast-paced Litigation Support Team supporting the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) in downtown Los Angeles, CA. This role offers an exciting opportunity to leverage your expertise in a dynamic government environment, helping DOJ achieve its mission through innovative, defensible technology solutions. Enjoy high autonomy, cross-organizational exposure, and a customer-driven culture. Overtime and travel may be required with authorization; flexibility to support various DOJ divisions based on needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform specialized legal research and writing on complex criminal/civil cases, analyzing statutes, precedents, and regulations.
  • Use automated resources for case-specific research, electronic discovery, and litigation proceedings.
  • Develop case referrals: evaluate evidence, plan information gathering, and advise attorneys on merits/weaknesses.
  • Handle litigation tasks: analyze pleadings, draft documents/orders, and manage correspondence.
  • Support pretrial prep: organize discovery, manage witnesses, research case law, and prepare exhibits for court.

Expect to perform these duties individually or combined, including senior paralegal responsibilities per contract terms. Pay: $30.10/hour.

Basic Qualifications

  • Paralegal certificate, JD, ABA law school (1+ year), or equivalent.
  • 2+ years litigation paralegal/project experience.
  • 1+ year automated litigation support.
  • Knowledge of court systems, legal research (LEXIS/Westlaw), eDiscovery, ESI tools, and applications like Word, databases, spreadsheets.
  • US Citizen; Public Trust clearance eligible.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Government/litigation support experience.
  • Trial experience.
  • Relativity proficiency.
  • Active clearance.
