Key Responsibilities

• Accurately translate digital and hard-copy materials between Pashto/Dari and English, capturing nuances, cultural references, and geopolitical context.
• Deliver consecutive interpretation with high fidelity; handle occasional simultaneous interpretation using regional dialects.
• Transcribe audio/internet content efficiently, producing detailed English reports with dialectical precision.
• Perform gisting and summarization, extracting critical facts from vast datasets using reference materials.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s (8-12 years experience) or Master’s (6-10 years) in relevant field; experience may substitute.
• 3+ years recent professional translation/interpretation.
• Senior-level proficiency in Pashto/Dari via Leidos test.
• Eligibility for TS/SCI with polygraph (no clearance needed to apply).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and research; excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Translation/interpretation degree; HLT experience; US immigration background.
• Contingency operations, IC/military/law enforcement familiarity.
• Multi-language proficiency; briefing skills.
