What You’ll Do

Translation

• Accurately translate digital/hard copy materials from Pashto/Dari to English and vice versa.
• Capture nuances, cultural/geopolitical references, and abstract concepts.
• Use consistent terminology aligned with subject matter norms.

Interpretation

• Deliver consecutive interpretation; occasional simultaneous required.
• Maintain fidelity with regional dialects and cultural context.

Transcription

• Transcribe audio/internet content efficiently into English reports.
• Handle dialectical variations with nuance.

Gisting and Summarization

• Summarize key facts/abstract concepts from large datasets.
• Prioritize critical information using reference materials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s + 4-8 years or Master’s + 2-6 years relevant experience (substitutable).
• Translation/interpretation degree desired; HLT experience a plus.
• Pass Leidos language test at Primary level or higher; MS Office proficiency.
• No clearance required to apply; TS/SCI with polygraph sponsored post-testing.

Preferred Qualifications

• Deployed linguist in contingency operations.
• IC/military/law enforcement familiarity.
• Briefing skills; multi-language proficiency.

Additional Information

• Required sponsor training, medical/physical screens, weapons training.
• OCONUS travel mandatory with 24/7 support.
