Principal Elasticsearch Systems Engineer at Leidos

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain large-scale Elasticsearch clusters in AWS cloud environments across multiple availability zones.
• Ensure clusters operate under optimal conditions with high performance and data integrity.
• Evaluate and optimize configurations, indexing strategies, search capabilities, query performance, security, and administration.
• Manage infrastructure maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting in both cloud and on-premises environments.
• Collaborate across Agile/DevSecOps teams with architecture, engineering, development, and operations for scalability and stability.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on Elasticsearch administration experience.
• Proven experience maintaining Elasticsearch in operational enterprise systems.
• Agile development environment experience.
• Deployment experience with commercial cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
• Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years relevant experience, Master’s with 10+ years, or equivalent experience.
• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience on customer-specific systems.
• Knowledge of customer system development policies.
• Elasticsearch-related certifications.
