Principal Linux Infrastructure Engineer

Core Responsibilities

• Lead installation, configuration, administration, support, and maintenance of enterprise Linux systems, hardware, and cloud resources.
• Implement performance tuning, storage optimization, and critical system patches across hybrid infrastructures.
• Monitor technology obsolescence, manage upgrades, and evaluate alternatives to maintain peak availability and capacity.
• Collect and analyze metrics for IT services, contributing to project KPIs and SLAs.
• Conduct risk assessments, mitigation strategies, vendor trade studies, and documentation to uphold service continuity and disaster recovery.
• Apply security mitigations and best practices to protect sensitive environments.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus 12+ years of relevant experience (or equivalent).
• Active TS/SCI with polygraph clearance required.
• Deep experience securing Linux servers, automation tools, shell scripting, and package management.
• Proven ability to innovate on complex tasks, develop methodologies, and deliver under metrics.
• Must be available for on-call support.
