Leidos Chief Data & Analytics Office (CDAO) is at the forefront of technology strategy, powering mission-critical applications for the nation. Our Operational AI (Ops.AI) division seeks a Principal Responsible AI Engineer to embed ethical, transparent, and secure AI practices into production systems. Build trust to accelerate innovation and mission success in a high-growth environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deploy enterprise-scale Responsible AI systems and governance frameworks meeting ethical, performance, and security standards.
- Architect a centralized Responsible AI Framework for compliance, model access, and unified governance.
- Build monitoring systems tracking performance, fairness, bias, ethics, and cost optimization.
- Partner with principal engineers, data scientists, and architects to deliver hardened, production-ready AI embedding fairness, accountability, and transparency.
- Implement governance guardrails ensuring data integrity, input/output filtering, bias prevention, risk mitigation, and adversarial attack protection.
- Champion best practices: version control, automated testing, CI/CD for AI systems.
- Track trends in Responsible AI, Explainability (XAI), operational AI, and MLOps.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's in CS/Engineering +12 years or Master's +10 years experience.
- Python proficiency; hands-on with TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn.
- Software engineering best practices, ML lifecycle expertise.
- Responsible AI principles, bias mitigation, AI cybersecurity knowledge.
- US Citizen; eligible for security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- National security/defense experience.
- MLOps platforms, containerization (Docker/K8s), IaC (Terraform), cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- AI ethics, NIST AI RMF, MITRE ATLAS familiarity.
