Principal Software Engineer (C#) - Leidos Security Enterprise Solutions
Leidos is seeking a Principal Software Engineer (C#) for our Security Enterprise Solutions (SES) business unit in Vista, CA. Join a team designing cutting-edge security equipment for borders, airports, seaports, and transportation hubs—including radiation detectors, X-ray scanners, and CT explosives detection systems. Update existing designs and innovate new products to make global travel and trade safer, healthier, and more efficient.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design, development, testing, and maintenance of C# services, simulators, and diagnostics (WPF/Blazor).
- Provide technical leadership, guide architecture, and promote best practices like TDD and CI.
- Drive adoption of AI-based tools to boost productivity and innovation.
- Ensure security compliance, reusable code via OOD, and collaboration with cross-functional teams (EE, ME, Scientists).
- Troubleshoot customer issues, support Field Engineers, and interact with clients to deliver solutions.
- Support business development with concepting, estimates, proposals, and trade-off analysis.
- Develop sustainable project estimates covering obsolescence, technical debt, and long-term viability.
- Communicate effectively in small cross-functional teams and report to management.
Required Qualifications
- BS + 12+ years or MS + 10+ years experience (or equivalent); C# production development mastery.
- Expertise in OOD, WPF/Blazor, TDD, CI, security standards.
- Public Trust clearance eligibility; local to Vista, CA for hybrid work.
