Production Scheduler Opportunity at Leidos in Huntsville, AL
Join Leidos' Defense Systems Mechanical Manufacturing Facility as a Production Scheduler and drive mission-critical production for 'can't fail' defense programs. Leverage your expertise in Deltek Costpoint to build and execute schedules that optimize shared resources across complex manufacturing environments.
Primary Responsibilities
- Create and update detailed daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.
- Synchronize MRP-planned orders in Costpoint with execution-level schedules.
- Analyze forecasts and demand for efficient resource utilization.
- Coordinate with integration sites for seamless build flow.
- Collaborate across Program Management, Supply Chain, and Production teams.
- Perform capacity assessments, load analysis, and bottleneck mitigation.
- Track real-time progress and adjust for delays or issues.
- Monitor key metrics: on-time delivery, throughput, utilization, WIP aging.
- Generate reports and facilitate cross-functional review meetings.
- Drive continuous improvement and schedule risk analyses.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree + 2-4 years or Master’s + <2 years in production planning/scheduling.
- Strong MRP/MPS, capacity planning, resource leveling knowledge.
- Proficiency in Deltek Costpoint or equivalent; Excel/Power BI skills.
- US Citizen with Secret Clearance (or eligible).
Preferred Qualifications
- Aerospace/defense electronics experience.
- Managing schedules in shared-resource facilities.
- Multitasking across multiple schedules.

Responsibilities
- Create and update detailed daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules
- Ensure synchronization between MRP-planned orders in Costpoint and execution-level schedules
- Analyze sales forecasts and customer demand to ensure adequate production levels and efficient resource use
- Coordinate production schedules with downstream integration sites for continuity of build flow
- Collaborate with Program Management, Supply Chain, and Production to align schedules with priorities
- Conduct rough-cut capacity and load analysis to identify bottlenecks and recommend mitigations
- Track production progress in real-time, identify bottlenecks, and adjust schedules
- Monitor performance to plan including on-time starts/completions, throughput, utilization, and WIP aging
- Generate reports on order status, production progress, and inventory levels
- Facilitate weekly cross-functional schedule review meetings
